Dear Supporter

For those of us living in cities and country towns across Australia, it’s easy to get medical attention when you are sick. It is also relatively easy to go to the doctor’s surgery for a routine check up and for the treatment of minor ailments - things like getting your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, catching that infection early, and collecting prescriptions.

For those people living in the furthest corners of Australia, getting medical attention is not quite so straightforward. Instead, it can involve exhausting round trips, clocking up thousands of kilometres. It is often easier to delay or put off altogether.

That’s why I am asking for your help.

Some people need to be rescued - Some people need a doctor

Our emergency medical care and evacuation service is extremely important to people living and travelling in remote and rural areas of Australia. We save lives every day.

Yet, it’s just as important to make sure that these same people have access to primary medical services for diagnosis, treatment, and antibiotics to prevent future medical issues. That’s why we fly doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other health professionals to remote destinations daily to deliver essential medical services.

Last year the RFDS touched the lives of 270,000 people. That’s one person every two minutes!

We need your support today, to help us to continue to deliver the finest care to the furthest corners of Australia.

To help us continue our essential services for people across Australia please make a donation today. Your generosity will greatly benefit people who need us in emergencies and those with limited access to medical services.

You can make your donation ONLINE NOW or by calling 1300 669 569.

With your help, we can make a real difference. From all of us here at the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, and those living in remote locations across the country, thank you.
